KENTUCKY KINGDOM KEEPS SUMMER COOL WITH OPENING OF HURRICANE BAY

Louisville, KY— May 23, 2023— Kentucky Kingdom, Louisville’s favorite daycation destination, will soon welcome guests back to Hurricane Bay for the 2023 season. Beginning Saturday, May 27th, Hurricane Bay will open with plenty of splashes, waves, slides and major memory making!

“The best place for Louisvillians to ward off the summertime heat is right here in their backyard at Kentucky Kingdom’s Hurricane Bay,” said Sarah Worrell, Kentucky Kingdom General Manager. “There’s more to discover during the 2023 season and guests will have endless opportunities to keep cool. With our all-new entertainment lineup, a new fireworks show—Summer Blast—and so much more, there’s something fun for all ages!”

New to Hurricane Bay this season are top-notch performances from local musicians like Artie Harris, Conch Republic, Lunar Beach House, The Monarchs and Will Wright at the all-new Sound Waves Stage. And, to cool off from those hot performances, guests can float down Castaway Creek—Louisville’s favorite lazy river— zip down water slides, or splash in the cool waters of the Family Wave Lagoon.

Guests this summer will also be the first to experience Summer Blast, Kentucky Kingdom’s first ever fireworks show. Beginning Friday, July 7 and happening every Friday and Saturday throughout the month, we’ll be dazzling guests like never before as we light up the sky with 15 minutes of memorymaking magic.
