Kentucky Kingdom Theme and Waterpark owes so much of its growth and success to the wonderful surrounding community, and we feel strongly about the importance of giving back. We strive to be a valued partner to the groups that serve our community members, bettering the area and supporting the people that live here. Our recent partnership is a revived connection. Today, we’re highlighting Supporting Heroes, an incomparable group that fundraises to help the families of fallen heroes throughout Missouri, Kentucky, and Indiana.
In 2004, Kentucky Kingdom Theme and Waterpark partnered with a remarkable local organization, Supporting Heroes, to host a special fundraising event at our park called Hero’s Weekend. This event was dedicated to honoring those who selflessly risked their lives to protect our community.
Supporting Heroes operates with the mission of honoring the service and sacrifice of public safety heroes who give their lives in the line of duty by caring for the loved ones they leave behind.
Two decades after the first Hero’s Weekend, we are thrilled to collaborate with Supporting Heroes once again to revive this meaningful partnership and support their efforts to ensure a firm, healthy foundation of healing for grieving families.
On September 7th and 8th, we’re extending our heartfelt gratitude by offering free admission for first responders and up to three guests to enjoy a well-deserved day of fun and relaxation with their loved ones. It’s our small way of saying “thank you” for their hard work and sacrifice.
Additionally, we encourage guests to participate in our all-you-can-eat Hometown Heroes Picnic Fundraiser on Saturday and Sunday. For just $15, you can enjoy a delicious meal while making a difference – proceeds from each ticket will go directly to Supporting Heroes, helping fund their vital efforts of supporting the families of fallen heroes.
We welcome this opportunity to show our gratitude to our local heroes and their unmatched sacrifices. Our community’s first responders perform valued services that are critical to our operations at Kentucky Kingdom Theme and Waterpark. From EMTs, to police officers, to firefighters, we commend the bravery of these courageous individuals and their families, and we encourage you all to join us in giving back.
At Kentucky Kingdom Theme and Waterpark, we strive to emulate our local heroes by putting our best foot forward in every initiative. So far in 2024 alone, we have contributed more than $300,000 worth of tickets, food, and other donations as a token of appreciation for our community partners. Through our partnership-based philanthropic events such as the Heroes Weekend, the Floral Frenzy 5K, and Walk for Wishes, we hope to spark joy in our hosts and guests and inspire memories to last a lifetime.
We look forward to a full weekend Sept. 7th and 8th, where together we can celebrate the courage of first responders and their dedication to our community.
